The main difference between Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide 2 is that Dead Island Riptide 2 is a sequel to Dead Island Riptide, not the original Dead Island game. Dead Island Riptide 2 continues the story of the survivors from the first game as they face new challenges in a different setting. The gameplay mechanics, graphics, and overall experience may have been improved in Dead Island Riptide 2 compared to the original Dead Island Riptide. **
