It is difficult to make a blanket statement about the entire German population, as individuals' awareness and intentions can vary widely. However, it is clear that many Germans were aware of Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitic and nationalist rhetoric, as well as his authoritarian tendencies, when they elected him as Chancellor in 1933. There were also significant propaganda efforts by the Nazi party to manipulate public opinion and suppress dissent. Additionally, economic hardship and political instability at the time may have influenced some voters' decisions. Overall, it is likely that a combination of factors contributed to Hitler's rise to power, and it is not accurate to say that the German population as a whole was completely unaware of who they were electing. **

Directly electing the Chancellor allows for greater accountability to the people, as they have a direct say in who leads the government. This can lead to a stronger mandate for the Chancellor and potentially more stable governance. However, it can also lead to a more polarized political environment, as candidates may cater more to popular opinion rather than making decisions based on what is best for the country as a whole. Additionally, direct elections can sometimes result in populist candidates winning office, which may not always be in the best interest of the country in the long term. **

As an AI language model, I do not have personal feelings. However, the election of right-wing parties to power in Germany has been a topic of concern for many people due to the historical context of the country. Given Germany's history with far-right ideologies and the impact of World War II, the rise of right-wing parties has raised questions and debates about the country's political direction and the potential implications for social and international relations. **

The popularity of cycling or skiing can vary depending on the location and time of year. In general, cycling tends to be more popular in urban areas and during the warmer months, while skiing is more popular in mountainous regions and during the winter. However, it's difficult to determine which activity is followed more overall without specific data on participation rates in different regions and seasons. **

The excitement level of ice hockey versus soccer is subjective and can vary depending on personal preferences. Ice hockey is known for its fast-paced, physical nature with constant action and scoring opportunities. On the other hand, soccer is a more strategic game with longer periods of build-up play and intense moments during goal-scoring opportunities. Both sports have passionate fan bases and offer unique thrills, making it difficult to definitively say which is more exciting. **

As an AI language model, I don't have personal feelings, but I can provide an analysis. The decision to elect a member of the AfD as the chairman of the cultural committee by the Left Party in Neubrandenburg is controversial and has sparked criticism. It goes against the traditional stance of the Left Party, which is generally opposed to the far-right AfD. This move has raised concerns about the party's commitment to its principles and values, and it has led to internal divisions within the Left Party. **

It is highly unlikely that soccer will replace American football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey as the most popular sports in the USA. These sports have deep-rooted cultural and historical significance in American society, and they have large and dedicated fan bases. Additionally, American football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey have well-established professional leagues and infrastructure in the USA, which would make it difficult for soccer to overtake them in popularity. While soccer has been growing in popularity in the USA, it is more likely to continue to coexist alongside these other sports rather than replace them. **

Ice hockey is often perceived as more brutal than soccer due to the physical nature of the sport, which includes body checking and fighting. However, both sports have their own unique physical demands and risks of injury. While ice hockey may have more violent collisions, soccer players also face the risk of serious injuries such as concussions and ACL tears. Ultimately, the level of brutality in each sport can vary depending on the intensity of the competition and the actions of the players involved. **
